Any person can write to the CDSA to complain about their experience with a dentist. This is the law in Alberta as established by Part 4 of the Health Professions Act (HPA). The CDSA has been governed by the HPA since December 31, 2001 and now, almost all health professionals in Alberta are regulated by the Health Professions Act.

If the Complaints Director receives a complaint about a dentist, they will notify the dentist and the person making the complaint about the steps to be taken with respect to the complaint.

Please refer to the Complaint FAQs for more information. Please call the Complaints Director at 780-432-1012 if you have any questions.
