Throughout their careers, Dentists may pursue opportunities to practice in other provinces or countries.

To facilitate this process, the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA) can provide official documentation directly to the relevant jurisdiction, with the member’s consent.

The Documents of Standing below are for current or previously registered members of the CDSA. There is an administration fee for each individual request. Please note, multiple jurisdiction requests cannot be counted as one submission.

Certificate of Standing
  • Required for registration in Canadian Provinces excluding Nunavut, Northwest Territories (NWT), and the Yukon.

  • Required for registration in Nunavut, Northwest Territories (NWT), the Yukon, USA and International.

  • Typically requested for enrollment in continuing education courses or verification of registration for financial institutions.

Fee Waiver Option

To request a waiver of the administrative processing fee, attach a Application for Relief – Fee Waiver form with the consent form for the appropriate document of standing. The CEO/Registrar will take careful consideration of all relevant factors within the fee waiver.

Processing Expectations

Proper processing timelines are necessary to allow and maintain compliance and member information integrity. This process can take up to 20 business days.

The document of standing will be issued electronically to the intended recipient directly from the CDSA.
